The Harlequin Mask

A network of curved ribbons, yellow as stitching, divides the field into bright fields of color. There is no face: what remains is the dynamic of disguise—identity as a flow that recomposes itself at every intersection. The work translates Harlequin into pure visual energy. The pattern of colored bands recalls the patched costume, but Optical Futurism erases the subject and preserves the principle of multiplicity. The curves chase each other, bend, and knot in a central fulcrum: they are vectors that push the gaze, accelerate, and deviate. The yellow border, constant yet elastic, functions as a luminous stitching: it stabilizes and, at the same time, vibrates the hot/cold contact between the areas, generating optical micro-sparks. The result is a dynamic masking: the mask is not seen, it happens.
